After I begged Mr. Fitz to get rid of our particle board corner desk that was a very big eye sore. I begged him to bring back this monstrosity from San Antonio.
(Pay no attention to the web of cords under the desk)
This desk is HEAVY. This desk was my Dad's first desk when he started working as an Accountant. It had been sitting in my parent's garage forever b/c my Dad had stepped it up and got a very nice desk with a credenza etc. But I guess they could never bring themselves to get rid of it......just as I will not get rid of it.
Now that I work from home I use the desk more often than just checking emails and paying bills. We had a glass top fitted so that we could keep it clean and I put photos underneath the glass.
It has these pull out tables that are handy when I have a ton of paperwork scattered all over the place.
The taped papers on the pull out tables is also really old. My Dad did payroll for a company and this is basically a spreadsheet (typed of course) of how much you would make in a year if you worked for $2.10 an hour. It goes all the way up to $4.80. So if you worked for $3.40 an hour then you made $7,072 annually. You can see some of the paper is ripped and I keep taping it back up. It has a bunch of doodles on it and it's been taped there for YEARS...probably about 40 years or more?? I'll have to ask my Dad this weekend when we go to San Antonio to visit.
I am trying to find new handles for it...but they are a ackward size. When we move I'd like to take it to get cleaned up and oiled. Just to keep it looking new.
