All sorts of stuff

Jumpin right in on the stuff...

Here is how I display my cards.
Hang thick ribbon. Then hang cute cards with mini clothespins.
I didn't have enough room to hang all the cards and I ran out of clothespins.
First come, first serve.

(check out the cute little elf)
Our tree.
Totally lame and plain but I like it. Decided to not put on any ornaments. Except for a few jingle bells. Pretty much my best idea EVER. We went to a friend's house and he managed to break several ornaments. I even broke one trying to put one back on their tree.

Side counter in our kitchen. Complete with a little hot chocolate bar. I have hot chocolate pretty much every night during the Winter. I got all sorts of flavors.
Raspberry, Tiramisu, Mexican Chocolate, Hazelnut, etc.
Three little frames. One says "Our First Christmas Together". The other is Liam's first visit with Santa and the other is of our doggie.

Last but not least. I rec'd a little treat from Life With Our Brown Eyed Girls
It says "The Fabulous Mrs. Fitz"
On the base it says "AKA Liam's Mom"
Isn't the cutest! Love it! Thanks so much Mrs. D.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Huge news, people. HUGE

I prayed for this day. I even called my sister and cousin to brag. Because I am nice like that.
These are going buh-bye! Yup, getting packed away.

Look at all the counter space I get back.

We've been trying these out for a while. He seems to like them all.

Look at my big boy.

I feared the absence of the night time bottle. But so far, so good!

Catalogs

While thumbing through http://www.basbleu.com/. I saw a few things that I think Casey should invest in for all the cats in her life...alive or otherwise.

My favorite....

they need to start pulling their own weight!

Do you think of your friends and family while thumbing through catalogs?

I have been getting upteen catalogs a day and while I enjoy going through them it is quite a task? What are some catalogs you only get during the holidays? Do you get "regular" ones?

My regulars are: Pottery Barn, Ballard Design, and Williams Sonoma. Occasionally, I'll get Oriental Trading or James Avery. During the holidays I get Bas Bleu and kid stuff like Sensational Beginnings, and One Step Ahead. I did get the Discovery Channel Store catalog and there is some cool stuff in there.

How cute is this shirt?

Meeting Santa 2010

Last weekend we went to the Fort Worth Club for Pancakes with Santa. I went for the mimosas, bloody marys and the breakfast buffet! They always have a huge spread and this was no different!

We decided to have our picture taken first b/c I am a not about to have a pancake faced little boy in his cute monogram shirt meet Santa. While we waited I may have indulged in a few adult beverages....the long was long peeps...don't judge!
Then these dudes showed up and I thought I was trippin.
Excuse me, are you on the list?

What? Do I have something on my face?
(See why we did pics first!)

After breakfast we hit up the little petting zoo.
L, pet the damn chicken!

Then, I finally got a mother/son pic. My first response after downloading it....I guess he does look like me!
And...the Santa Pic...

Poor Turkey

I feel bad for Thanksgiving. It totally gets over looked. It goes straight from Halloween to Christmas.

We're back from a whirlwind trip of TX. We drove to SA on Thursday then to Corpus on Friday then back to SA on Sunday and back home in DFW on Monday. During this time I managed to get sick. Not surprising though. Little man has not been sleeping well so I just got run down. I haven't been sick in forever. But of course Liam is not feeling well now and didn't go to sleep until about 2am. Is fever of almost 104 finally went down and then he settled down. Okay..pity party is over.

What are ya'll getting the kids for Christmas? Since Liam doesn't know what's going on he's not getting much from us. In my opinion, no need to go overboard just yet. Right now his favorite toys are anything but his toys! I'll let the aunts and grandparents get him toys and such. We are getting him this little play grill

and some musical toys that I actually got for his birthday and didn't open it up..so he'll get it for Christmas! Super excited though b/c I got the grill almost two weeks ago for $35 and today on Amazon it was $60! Score!
I think my son might turn into a graham cracker...it's all he eats!
I really hate it when people walk right in the middle of the aisles in the parking lot. I know it's safer this way...but get out of my way people!
Looking forward to getting the Christmas decor out. We didn't decorate last year b/c we were in the middle of selling our house and all the boxes were in storage. This year will be fun b/c I'll get to see where all the stuff fits into the new house. I always seemed to put the same stuff in the same place as the year before. Do you do that? Everything had a spot...
Okay...gots to run...apparently the kiddo needs to eat! ha!

Hercules, Hercules!

So now that Liam is a full on walker he can get to the dog bowls very quick! What is it with a water bowl and dog food? But he can move chairs like no other to get to whatever it is he shouldn't be getting to!

Happy Birthday Baby Liam

OMG, I have a one year old! How did this happen? Where did the time go?
As I type this I was in labor 1 year ago. Liam will be born 5 hours from now.
I remember a lot of that day (texting Coco and Casey non-stop). I remember bits and pieces of the last year. It's hard to remember everything and half the time you are sleep deprived. Thank goodness for thousands of pictures and countless video.
It feels like ages ago that:
we washed bottles non stop.
we got up in the middle of the night.
we got peed on and pooped on.

At the time it feels like we would never get past it and now a whole year later we have a baby that takes two bottles a day and sleeps 12 hours a night with two naps! He's nearly walking and babbles all day long.

I can't only imagine what this year will bring.

Happy Birthday Liam!!!!

Birthday Party Preview

Okay. I've been gone for a very important reason.
FIRST BIRTHDAY MADNESS!
All you Mommas out there know all about the first birthday. It has to be total perfection. It has to be the cutest, the best and the most fun EVER! Thanks to the birthday gods my mom, sister, brother-in-law and both nephews were here to help!

It was a pretty chaotic house but the kids entertained each other. The hubbies left the house to go to the Ranger game one night and the morning of the party we sent the guys on all sorts of errands to get out of our hair!
It was a Halloween Party. The kids dressed up and it was super cute.
I can't write all about it right now because a certain little man had too much fun and has been throwing up all morning! No fever or anything. I think just too much FUN b/c he's crawling all around like a mad man and acting fine! ;) By 8am I had already done two loads of laundry and and changed his clothes three times and given him a bath to clean him up! Here are a few party pics to keep you entertained this morning!!

P.S. Why didn't ya'll tell me not to get his hair cut prior to his party. I am just getting used to his chili bowl hair cut. He needed a trim so bad but the chick cut it so lame. I do not want to hear one word about his hair...ka-peesh?

Why Hello There!!!

Hi peeps! Gosh...it's been a whole month since my last post. Been kinda busy in Fitz land!
So here it goes. But I must warn you that I am watching Thursday night TV (yeah TV shows are back) so this will be random! I'll do it list style...that's how I roll.

1. First of all, I've been in SA tons the last two months. Some of ya'll know but my Dad's been sick for quite some time and he's taken a turn for the worst. He's doing okay now and his stable. He's been in the hospital for 2 months. Hopefully, he'll get to come home soon! My sister and I take turns coming to SA to visit with him and my Mom. So that's the main reason for my bloggie absenteeism.

2. My sweet litte boy is SOO big. He will be ONE in just three weeks. How did this all happen so fast? While in SA this week he got a little sickie. He woke up from a nap on Monday morning and VOILA...mega fever. This is the only second time in his whole life that he's been sick. So it's hard on both of us! Got him to the doctor and of course it's a virus...throat super duper red. He cried all night on Monday and Tuesday...whoa...rough! His fever got up to 105..scary larry! Thank goodness I was with my Mom..or I would have been freakin out!
He woke up Wednesday a brand new man...of course just in time for Daddy to arrive in SA! He's never around when he's sick...how convenient! ;)

3. I've been crafting quite a bit. Made some cute letters for Liam's room. Need to take a pic. I also made this cute wreath. Pics to come when I get home. And reading Allison's blog is making me crazy with crafting fever!

4. So glad that TV is back. Just watched Grey's, watching Private Practice right now. Mod Fam on the DVR along with Big Bang Theory and Oprah, and of course General Hospital (yup...still watching soaps...have been since i was like 13)

5. While in SA I've been hitting up some old school hot spots. When I come home...we mostly stay at home and it's only for weekends. Since I've been here for 10 days or more..I get to go to some fav. spots. Super good food! Of course...good Mexican food!!!!

6. Referring to #5...total fatty right now.

7. Finally embracing the mommyhood thing right now...as far as joining little groups. We've done Little Gym. Now we're doing a music class at TCU. It's more than just twinkle twinkle. The teachers are actual teachers and we get CDs and little music things to take home. It's all semester long. I've joined 2 other mom groups. One=lame. The other...super fun. Love all the girls so far. We have game nights, volunteer, play groups etc. Liam is a busy little man.

8. Speaking of little man....he's close to walking. When he feels like it he'll walk while holding our hands. He walks all along the couch etc. He crawls like crazy. So weird how just one day they start crawling, walking, talking etc. It's like they wake up and think "I think I'll crawl today!" He also claps now and does high five. He claps for EVERYTHING! It's so darling, his chubby little arms clapping...love it!

Okay...I think I am done....mostly b/c I would like to give my full attention to the TV.
Thank you and good night! ;)

Dearest Liam

Dear sweet-baby-boy Liam,

Oh, how I love you so. You're the light of my life. Except last night, it was dark and there was no light at the end of the tunnel. The last few nights you've been waking promptly at 1am even after I have drugged you. Last night, rather this morning you decided to not go back to sleep until 3:30am. You're tired, I am tired.

If you recall, this is how it went down.
Screaming, crying.
Lots of shooshing.
Lots of belly rubbing.
Then stop the belly rubbing.
Music on.
Stare at you until you dose back off.
Quietly tip toe out of the room.
CRAP, you heard a creak.
Repeat.
I broke down and gave you a bottle. Which I haven't given you a bottle in the night for over 6 months. That seemed to do the trick until 6am, then Daddy brought you to bed with us. Two big no-nos in the Fitz house! Yup, you won.

When I picked you up, you're fine, you're ready to party. As you know I am not above letting you cry it out. Which I did for 10 minutes. Yup, I turned off the sound on the monitor too. I could still hear you, the neighbors probably heard you too. I am sorry your teeth hurt and I hate to see you in pain. But you should be used to it by now. You're probably the only 10 month old with almost 14 teeth.

So tonight, let's get a few things straight. Go to bed. Stay in bed for at least 12 hours. Let me re-phrase that, stay in bed ASLEEP.

Thank you,
The Management
