Tagged!

Casey tagged me weeks ago...so now I have to tell you 10 things about me you may or may not know.

1. I am about 14 weeks away from giving birth and I am getting a little anxious.

2. I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. Maybe someday I'll live there again. I have enjoyed living in DFW since 2001. Dallas, Fort Worth and now Arlington.

3. I love hot dogs! I'll even eat the hot dogs they sell at Home Depot. I can't wait to eat a hot dog tomorrow at the NY Mets Baseball Game. Nothing better than eating a hot dog at a baseball game. Too bad I can't have a beer to go with it. I also like hot dogs mixed with macaroni and cheese and with beans...you know like beans and weenies. DELISH!

4. I have gone to private Catholic school my whole life. 1st grade to college.

5. I still watch The Real World on MTV, every Wednesday. My husband and I tally the cities that we've been to that have also been Real World locations. We're dorks.

6. I work from home now, it's 10am and I haven't brushed my teeth yet. I know, gross.

7. I have run in two half marathons and many 5ks. It all started when I trained with the Train to End Stroke group. My husband and I raised thousands of dollars for the American Stroke Association (we won an award for the most $ raised). I had never run over a mile in my whole life before doing this. I am thinking (just thinking) about maybe doing a full marathon after the kiddo is born.

8. I have worked in the retail industry since I graduated from college. Pier 1 (stores and home office) and Michaels Arts and Crafts (home office). I was a store manager at Pier 1 (where I met Casey) and then worked in HR/Communications/Distribution. At Michaels I started out as an Assoc. Buyer then switched over to Marketing and planned events for the entire chain.
Retail apparently is in my blood....my parent's owned a dollar store type place back in the day. It was called Six Star. With every purchase you would collect fake money and then get to buy a special gift with the fake money from this wall of crap...I mean nice, flashy, product. (You know I am totally kidding, Mom!)

9. I was accident prone as a kid. Two of the many things.....1. I was at softball practice and got a little to close to my friend swinging the bat. I was hit in the mouth, with braces. I had stitches on my lip for a few weeks and my friend wrote me a nice note apologizing. I still have it. I think it was around 4th grade. 2. On the playground I was caught underneath the see-saw. You know when one person gets off the other person goes flying...well I was underneath the side that fell straight down...on my head. I remember the wind got knocked out of me. They had to shave the hair off near the crown of my head to stitch me up. I think they also had to put restraints on me b/c I was in hysterical and would not sit still.

10. I once fainted in the parking lot of Big Lots. I had given blood at work in the afternoon and that evening after work I went to Big Lots to purchase these large storage bins (they are cheap there) and as I was checking out I could feel myself turning white. All I could think about was get to the car, get to the car. I was walking out to the car, pushing the cart with these huge storage containers and then I just fell in the parking lot. These young guys saw me and asked if I was okay. I immediately got up and just said "Yes, I am fine, I gave blood today." I was super embarrased and felt like such a dork lying there in the middle of the street!
