We're going to California for vacay! Flying to San Fran, then off to Sonoma then we'll end the week in Lake Tahoe with my sister-in-law and her family. They have a house there. They also have the hook up with babysitters!!! Woo hoo. It's definitely been different planning a vacation with a baby. We're used to livin it up on vacation. I think we'll eat at In and Out Burger everyday!
Starting going to Little Gym with Liam. We just went once, I think he liked it. He passed out before we left the parking lot. He still has no interest in crawling. He does reach for things and then fall on his stomach. Then he cries for someone to pick him up!
I signed up for a Bible study. It's a Beth Moore Bible Study about the Book of Esther. This is something completely different for me. I've never done this before. Typically, Catholics aren't big on Bible studies and fellowship type stuff...at least in my experience. But it's also neat to relate the Book of Esther to everyday life and listen to the other girl's translation. It's ten week course, every Tuesday...I missed three classes...whoops!
I've also been taking Liam to storytime at the library for FREE. Lots of babies, books, singing etc. This is something else totally not my thing...or at least I am getting used to singing dorky songs with hand movements.
The new Real World started...that Ryan guy is way weird and The Hills' Olivia is such a wench.
And whoever invented cap sleeves must have super skinny arms.
After we get back from Cali...two days later I head to SA for my friend's wedding. I am the Matron of Honor. I have to write a speech. I am hoping words will come to me while I am chilaxin in Cali.
Any tips for traveling with a baby?
Adios!

The best advice I have for traveling with a baby is be flexible. Know that sleeping patterns etc. will be off, and don't sweat it. If a nice dinner with family and kids is going to be too much for your little guy at the end of the day, bow out and order room service...or call that sitter! =) Have a blast!
I agree about those shoes!
I can't say...I wasn't brave enough to travel with Sydney until she was nearly 7! I bet Liam has changed a ton since we met you at Joe T.'s during spring break. Enjoy your trip! I hate those shoes and have hated them every time they have come in style since 1979! Same with cap sleeves!
When Cason was 5 months old we drove to Florida and then drove to Colorado when he was 6 months old. We set up the DVD player in the car playing Baby Einstein and it was a LIFE SAVER!!! I'm guessing you are probably flying so this may not help.
Also, have a ton of little toys that are new, or he hasn't seen in a while, to pull out of your bag and surprise him with when he gets cranky. That is what always worked with Cason. Each one would pacify him for 15-30 min. at a time.
I also agree to just know you are not going to have him on a schedule and accept it so you don't stress about it.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend the PeaPod Travel bed instead of a pack n play. Takes up a lot less space. We still use ours.
That's my 2 cents worth. Have Fun!!!!!
I love those shoes! Seriously. I do.
Enjoy California. We'll be a few hours away! Damn you and your plans.
Tips? Order lots of wine.
We flew with Hudson to Colorado when he was 8 months old. Bottle on take off and again on landing. He slept most of the time.
Like Malinda said - lots of new toys that he hasn't seen before. Casey gave me the suggestion of going to the Dollar Store and picking up some things. Lots of snacks, too.
And wine or bloody mary's for the adults!! Fo sho!
Olivia is such a beotch. But I love that show.
Have fun!! Can't wait to hear all about it. And you better take pictures, Fitz!!
You're so funny, you do not suck at blogging. In fact, I aspire to be better like you b/c you write about all sorts of topics. :) Umm, this may sound weird but I kind of like those shoes. I don't know sometimes I'm in the mood to go w/ diff styles on things. I see it as a fun summer shoe. haha. Enjoy the first vacation with Liam. I say plan ahead for things but at the same time follow his lead. Does that make sense?
i love beth moore studies! i always seem to miss a couple as well (whoops) but you can always go back and do them later, that's the great thing!
SO JEALOUS of all of these california adventures! you must post pics later on!! :)
I totally want some top siders. Is that bad?
Olivia can't really be that bitchy. Right?
Have fun, I can't wait to hear the Cali deets. Jealous.
